Here are some recommended resources for great websites:
Social Thinking Throughout the Wheelock Elementary school, we use consistent language to help promote social/emotional competency. Michele Garcia Winner is an expert and highly regarded across the country in this field. On this website you will find information on how we teach our kids to be a 'social detectives' and what it means to have 'expected' and 'unexpected' behavior, among many other things.
Zones of Regulation Leah Kuypers uses a very kid-friendly approach to help students understand different levels of emotions and how to handle when our body and mind become dis-regulated. Whether the child is feeling angry or worried; or the student has too much or too little energy. This program helps to concretely categorize different levels and corresponding strategies. This program correlates with the Michele Garcia Winner's work and this language has also been taught to the students and teachers of Wheelock.
Go Zen This is a great resource for kids with anxiety, there are kid friendly videos and great learning tools for parents and teachers. I follow their blog and they always have great up to date articles.
Jill Kuzma This website/blog is chalk full of great social skills activities, resources and videos. I often find great lessons and new books to use with students on this website. A lot of the resources found here would be great to use at home with kids too!
Smart But Scattered Dr. Peg Dawson and Dr. Richard Guare are experts in the field of Executive Functioning and on their informative website they share more about the difficulties that kids with ADHD and Executive Dysfunction face and how to support them.
A few other websites that are helpful and may be more helpful for a broader range of concerns for children may be:
